Iris Sparrow (@iris.sparrow) will be your photographer for the second round of this wet and wild shoot at one of our favorite Bay Area spots, Inspiration Studios in Redwood City!
We’ll be shooting in the aerial side of the studio and making a big ol mess! We’ll be using a black tarp for the “backdrop”, walls, and floor of this shoot. Your lighting will be sparkly, dramatic white light to really highlight the glossy, slick, wet paint.
This shoot is available for floor, lyra, and other non-fabric apparatuses only. You may bring your own apparatus, but it must be wrapped (no bare metal to get slippery)! While we will slowly turn your apparatus for the right angle, we will not be allowing fast spinning (we don’t want to splatter-paint the studio).
What to wear/bring: Gallons of Blick brand non-toxic tempera paint will be provided for your use - smearing over your body, rolling around in, and pouring. Feel free to bring any other body paint you would like to personally use. Click here for more about Blick Tempera Paint! This paint is certified nontoxic, USA made, and contains no latex, dairy, casein, soy, egg, gluten, peanuts, or tree nuts. It cleans up with soap and water, but it may stain skin temporarily and costumes permanently - so plan accordingly!
For clothing, you may be actually nude, or bring nude/white/neutral costumes to wear. You’re welcome to wear heels, as long as you don’t mind them getting covered in paint! Here are a few shots from our previous paint shoot:
Plan a variety of movement that will work even if you’re slippery - the floor will be a slip and slide quickly! We’ll be available to help pour and pose you, too!
At this shoot, we're offering 25 minute appointments. You get an online proof gallery to choose your 15 favorites. About two weeks after the shoot, you’ll receive the link to that gallery. 30 days after you send us your selections, the fully edited, high resolution digital images will arrive in your inbox via Google Drive.
We try to make the process as effortless as possible from your end. If it’s less stressful for you, we can even choose your images! Just let us know at the shoot.
